Why Fox News isn’t news.

Thought this was very interesting. I personally can’t say I watch the ‘news’ much at all. The responses to this videoclip on Youtube are very telling as to how divided people are.

I love politics, but lately it’s been difficult to stomach. The pundits on both the Left and the Right have been acting childish as of late, and (in my opinion) it’s centered around the race of the President. The Left wants Obama to be the stereotypical hardcore angry black man, while the Right wants everybody to be afraid of a stereotypical hardcore angry black man.

Specific to this video: You know how Moody’s has a system that grades the quality of bonds? In the same vein, I think that there needs to be an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental body that rates the quality of news networks. As we saw with the Shirley Sherrod story last week, Fox delivers “news” that is outright false…they are no better than a tabloid. As we have seen, it is detrimental for a “respected” source of news to tell people falsehoods. Granted, most of what we hear is bullshit, but I believe that people need to know what level of bullshit they’re receiving. Alot of people get their “information” on the world from Fox, believing it’s the gospel truth. If Fox were seen as no better than the National Enquirer (which they are not), then EVERYBODY would learn to take their news with a grain of salt.

I will say that I gotta pop my collar to Rupert Murdoch…through his many “news” outlets, this racist elitist capitalist white Australian has found a niche in American business: rural white fear. He’s getting alot of money off of that bullshit, and he’s doing a hell of a job of discrediting the current President (as he did a hell of a job in keeping the public misinformed about the previous President’s corruption).

I could go on for years about this.
