Vinyl Destination: I made this a while ago…
Posted by iAreConscious in Blog on May 1, 2010
Thirteen tracks, ten of which are instrumentals. I made this something like, six, seven years ago. The idea was, ‘Vinyl Destination’ is an unreleased album that had been sitting in a vault for an unknown number of years and released long after it’s time in solitary confinement as a brand new album. The sounds on this record are all over the place, so one couldn’t really place the precise age of production. I never officially released this. Honestly I’d go back and tighten it up in a whole lot of places if I ever decided to really put it out. There’s plenty of samples on this album. Take a listen an hear where my mind was about seven years ago. There are three tracks with vocals. One of the songs on this album I even shot a bootleg video for. If you think some of the stuff I post now is guerrilla video production, you will not believe the manner in which I pieced together ‘Latchkey’.
Here’s my favorite track on Vinyl Destination, ‘Sumday 2Day’. Guess who’s voice is sampled for this one. You’ll never figure it out.

Snoop Dog’s ‘I Wanna Rock Right Now…’
Posted by iAreConscious in Blog on December 14, 2009
I’ve had the instrumental for a lil while now. Snoop rocked the song with the Roots last week on tv (His dancers were a hot mess). I think it’s pretty decent. It’s cool. Not a bad song. Snoop has a way of coming back with a couple every so often so you don’t forget him, unlike quite a few of his peers that need to just quit all together.
Anyway… I started writing something…
Let me know if you need some clarification…

Listen as I break the forth wall
return to dress rehearsal role reversal I’m the fall,
acting like the Spring, cousin wrote the letter… Dear Park, how are things, in Poland…?
For Starters with caps, you know the monies
Older when it has small faces…
We’ve only just begun to Trade Places
Feel a lickel different once we redirect the hatred
No second handed shoes…
Or standing in our places…
Dying on the inside… But keeping up appearances
We all have smiley faces…
Shiny faces. Baby powder, Vaseline
No chap ping of the lips…
For ice cream we all scream
Delirious for sugar so it seems
Trap’em in that trick Bag…
Take’em out to Queens
dump’em in a field of dreams
Lucid is the theme
yuh niggah
I’m on my astral plane
A Dog’s Life playing with Astro’s plane
i didn’t ask for fame
give me all’uh da money so i can pay these bills off..
a gyromite that duck hunts, blow ur smurffin bill of…
All I got for now. BB’s come in handy late night on the train.
What are your thoughts on Snoop’s latest song, album?

Candace Parker: Exhibit E+ – Eglamore C & Maybe
Posted by iAreConscious in Audio Bitz on December 8, 2009
I downloaded, ‘Exhibits A-Z’ an instrumental album by The Architect a few days back. When I arrived at track five, Exhibit D – Find A Way, I immediately started writing. I came up with a song, ‘Maybe’ which I intend on singing at some point in the near future. Still working out some things with it. Anyway, I’d spent enough time with it Sunday and decided to continue listening to the rest of the album. I haven’t heard all the instrumentals yet because I stopped to write again on the next track, Exhibit E – Eglamore. This one is interesting. The reason being, I decided I’d try my best to write something in my head. I rarely ever do this. If i do, it’s because I have no choice and I don’t want to lose anything I think may lead to a great verse or song.
So, I get a few lines in my head and I tell my folks Coole High and Ciph Diggy about the whole making up something in my head. I let Coole listen to the track and what rhyme I’d come up to that point. His response was simply, ‘finish that and send it to me’. I got up this morning and knocked out the following scratch vocal, in one take, which is surprising. Yeah, I’m being honest. For a while I’ve been having general issues with recording. I’m working on it.

She was a champion, an all star,
a master of the triple threat position
on all fours. A tall broad, with nice claws
teen wolf, she wolf, with no flaws
if it came down to it, she could spit bars
or strip cars, a pit boss
quickly tell a Ace, king, queen, on a jack to get lost,
joker you poke her face, nah… she poke yours
give you more dimples
a discount, a buck fifty when the fare is 2.25
no free rides
she hardbody
ask Coole High
More to come!
Thanks for listening… Tell me what you’re thinking…
