A regular ol blog post.

As always, still learning through daily life steps in this city of New York, while plotting movements toward the west but more so away from this continent. The last few weeks for me have consisted of random highs and lows some major while others faint, almost missed by internal radar but even still relevant and useful in the larger scheme of things as are all experiences, that is if you choose to recognize them. Last week I sang with Jane Lecroy. She’s in the new issue of Frank 151. It’s an issue themed in erotica. Has quite a few nice photos. Singing was, meh… I’ll post the live audio soon. It was great to perform with her though, as we’re a great pair and we ‘get’ one other. She rocks. She even did a song with her seven year old daughter.

I’m contemplating the approach to recording the lyrics for this one. It’ll either be real light and airy or come from the gut. Ha ha. On a major raspy pull like Kurt Cobain would do it. I’m thinking I want to create a kind of distortion coupled with phone line type effect on the vocals. With a lot of erratic panning. I’ll do a few different versions play with my tone and discuss it with my panel of collaborators. You’ll be the first to know about it when it’s completed.

These tears ain’t tears my dear they’re tears…
My mask is calm, no threat, no need to fear
And if my eyes weren’t closed I could see you better… yeah…
And if I could conjure wind, brew storm, to show I care…
it wouldn’t matter no way…

These tears ain’t tears my dear they’re tears…
My mask is calm, no threat, no need to fear

And if I closed my eyes I could see you better…

The year is new so it’s time for me to buckle down and get this album recorded. Most all of the writing is done. There’s only one song that has yet to be written. it’s not serious though because I intend on going in the studio with a good friend and awesome singer Jane Lecroy and basically doing some improvisations based on a simple concept. I know that between the two of us and my associate producer Bani, we’ll get that one song together no problem.

Simply. The song is about this ghost that can’t haunt.
