Mos Definitely… Living My Life

I have so much to share, but have too much of a workload currently to do it like I’d like to. So for now I’m just dropping you a lil note.

Three weeks ago I was going through it. But I knew it would pass. I was sure of it. Even still, regardless of me knowing already what lies ahead, it didn’t make anything that I experienced feel any better during what I would call a tremendous transitional point in my life. I felt the movement in the cosmos. Seriously. I recognized my place in this universe. Sometimes you need to be shaken. Coole High says it better prepares you for the rest of the journey. You appreciate things more when you ‘suffer’ a bit. The probability of your success in whatever it is you do increases I believe, once faced with adversity and over coming it thereafter.

PS: The photo of Mos is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a series that I’m quite happy with and you will see it pretty soon.

PPS: Big Shout to FROactiv, just because…

Can You Dig This? Mos Def – 24 Hour Karate School

All I can say is this is beautiful. Big shout to Dame Dash and Ski Beatz for making this possible. I love you Mos Def even if they call you crazy. An honest and genuine attempt at getting back to making real music. I believe they’ve been successful. How much really have you heard about this project? Spread the word. Support good music and stop complaining about the television and radio. You don’t listen to’em anyway. Take control! Creative Control!

Nike: Tigerbalm

What do you think about the promo?

I like this. Very much so. And regardless of what some may say about it, (because I’m sure there will be an onslaught of fiery opinions citing that this commercial ‘exploits…‘) so what?

As far as I’m concerned, Nike has come up with numerous campaigns that are inspiring to the millions of people that view them. The slogan of ‘Just Do It’ is quite powerful, whether you choose to believe it or not. Hearing the voice of Saul Williams during a commercial is great. A major accomplishment. Word. Sound. Power. In the mainstream. Mos Def sings ‘My Umi Says, shine your light on the world…’ That’s priceless.

Jay Electronica f. Diddy, Mos Def & Talib Kweli – Exhibit C (Live) [Explicit Content]

Jay Electronica Calls On Diddy to perform “Exhibit C” from Mikey Fresh on Vimeo.

Not long ago did I post a Youtube about Jay Electronica and me not knowing what his deal was in the midst of all the talk about him. If you have a split of people hating the dude and loving him, it’s obvious there’s something going on that should be checked out. I listened to a mixtape and was immediately in respect of the emcees abilities. That something that’s missing from so many emcee’s music was all in his.

Now I look at this video and think to myself, I bet a large portion of the people that talked sideways about him are in love with the dude now. His growth as a performer on stage in the last couple of years is tremendous. If you can not recognize the power that he has on that stage just from this video alone I surely do not know what to tell you.

If you’ve been looking for some Hiphop that’s full of serious sustenance, then look no further. Meet Jay Electronica.
