Posted by iAreConscious in Audio Bitz, Blog, Trap Journal on May 5, 2010
I’ve finally written down the song titles for my forthcoming release ‘Trap’…
Here goes…
Trap
[K]niggah Part Duex
Ladystar
Paidues
Event Horizon
Skyscraper
Rigor mortis [Closed Casket]
[K]niggah Please [With A Silent K]
Libra/Scorpio
Poem [Untrappable]
This is not the order as they will appear on record…
The title track single to be released in June. The full album, we shall see. It’s all coming together. I will not disappoint. My most personal offering since I began sharing music and art. I am excited to share this album. I look forward to seeing the affect of this project on listeners and the many conversations to be had after this project is released.

Trap Book: Do You Keep A Journal?
Posted by iAreConscious in Trap Journal on January 24, 2010
I purchased a journal. I need to write as much as possible during this process of creating ‘Trap’…
This book will be covered in stickers…
I wrote the following this morning soon after I woke up….
Amazed by how elaborate this Trap is. Much respect to the architects that built such a structure. Even more respect to the individuals who managed to engineer their way out of it…

No malice in under pants: I Wanna Trap
Posted by iAreConscious in Audio Bitz, Blog on December 15, 2009
Why do I do such short pieces? Because it’s an exercise for me. I’m perfecting my ability to tell a story or relay some intel in under a minute. If you don’t dig it then mind yah business. Just kidding. But seriously there is a method to the madness. I don’t do things just to do’em. I do what I enjoy ultimately, that’s the ‘simple’ answer. Take it or leave it. Question. Would you rather me just do any ol thing, or be precise and create something with an inkling of a real idea or purpose behind it? Be honest. If you dig it you’ll listen to it again. And again. It may frustrate you because it’s so short. You’ll appreciate the real songs and full length albums a whole lot more when they arrive. It’s training day everyday for us all.
The following is, “I Wanna Trap” over Snoop Dogg’s “I Wanna Rock”… I dig the simplistic track, gives me space to operate.

Murfs: The Untold Story of “The Smurfs”.
Posted by iAreConscious in Audio Bitz, Blog on October 20, 2009
You ever wonder what was ‘really’ going on deep down in the forest with that village of small blue creatures? Why did Gargamel hate them so much? Well the truth just might surprise you… Those “Smurfs” were not what you believed them to be… No, not at all. Let’s just say they weren’t as innocent or remotely nice as they came off on television. It was all a front, like that bodega in your neighborhood that never restocks its shelves and has all the dusty merchandise. Today the truth is revealed…

beat you till you blue in the face

of what we do in’em crates
turntable debate, even still we doin it great
doin it late, way into the wee hours
smurf sets devoured, repel gargamels
dude, whew what is that smell?
yo hawns and pee wees rotten in cell
smurf up kids dig in yah pockets
castin a spell, forecast rainin kats like
you azz ree el, as we tell the story
of these lil dudes always on the move
through the woods, transporting goods
rockin white britches and dunce cap hoods
smart dumb niggahs, that dig ditches and pull trigger
for gold and silver coins, old time figures
my nifter, they ain’t hundred acres fakers
or keebler bakers of cake dust..
smurfettes with techs, covered in makeup
rip van wrinkle yah but you won’t wake up
the stakes up high, and we ain’t finna bake no more pies spill beige dust
solar eclipse of the dips love the clipse
this gang re ups band they ain’t no crips
that’s just they skin tone, no need to shed bloods for this
Peyo was the Belgian responsible for this
hustlin phenomenon

So, I’ve been working on this new in the meantime record called, ‘Trap’ and just a couple of days ago I received an awesome track produced by Thinker of ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ customized to my liking. Almost immediately I knew what I was going to write for this music fashioned especially to me. Of course Conscious loves the ladies, so the direction I went in for this piece is another selection for those creatures that inspire me so. I wrote LadyStar yesterday. I’m going to record it later today.

I hear the people talkin…
